Veteran actor Randhir Kapoor once revealed that he was strongly against the idea of his daughter Karisma Kapoor marrying industrialist Sunjay Kapur.He made it very clear that the Kapoor family did not need Sunjay’s money to survive or succeed. Karisma and Sunjay had tied the knot in 2003 and their divorce was finalised in 2016. During their divorce, they were not on good terms as they also took the legal route and fought for the custody of their children – Samaira and Kiaan.
‘We don’t need to run after anyone’s money’Back in 2016, In an interview with Hindustan Times, Randhir Kapoor openly criticised his daughter’s ex-husband and cleared the air about rumours surrounding Karisma’s divorce from Sunjay Kapur. “Everyone knows our credentials. We are Kapoors. We don’t need to run after anyone’s money. We have been blessed with not only money, but our talent can support us for the rest of our lives,” Randhir said. The statement came after claims were made suggesting Karisma married Sunjay for his money.‘I never wanted Karisma marrying him’Randhir also didn’t hide his disapproval of the match from the very beginning. He added, “I never wanted Karisma marrying him. He never cared for his wife. He has been giving bull**** to her and living with another woman. The entire Delhi knows how he is.
